Multiply all quantities by 16, so:

1 gallon milk
1½ gallons water
½ cup yeast
approx 14 lb unbleached flour
½ cup salt
½ cup sugar
2½ dozen eggs (32 eggs)
1¼ lb (2½ cups) butter

- Making breakfast for a crowd? Measure out your ingredients the night before. Then get into the kitchen 15 minutes early the next morning to combine them. The yeast can begin doing its stuff while you begin to prepare the coffee at its usual time (God forbid you should be so foolish as to delay the preparation of the caffeine by even five minutes; when the breakfast crowd arrives, they want their coffee now!
